Sir,

I have the honour to inform you that I

have under consideration the enactment of legislation

for the regulation of lifts, and to request that I may

be supplied with copies of any Act or Regulations in

force in Great Britain which may be of use in this

connection.

2.

This Government is in possession of a

copy of the London County Council Regulations with

regard to Places of Public Entertainment, which came

into force on 1st January, 1929, of which Regulations

164 to 170 deal with the installation and maintenance

of lifts in buildings used for Public Entertainment.
